The longest escalator in the world

The central and mid-levels escalator system in Hong Kong is the longest outdoor escalator system in the world. It connects central and mid-level residential areas. The system has a total length of 800 meters and a vertical distance of 135 meters, consisting of 20 electric escalators and three automatic sidewalks. The system walks in different directions at work in the morning and in the afternoon. It takes about twenty minutes from one end to the other.

The world's second longest outdoor escalator system is located in Hong Kong Ocean Park.

An escalator at one of the subway stations in Washington, d.c., is 70 meters long, the longest single escalator in the western hemisphere. The Czech Prague metro station has an escalator 100 meters long in 1998.
